Guelph falls to Waterloo in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

Andrew Lane gave the Waterloo Siskins a 4-3 (OT) victory over the Guelph Hurricanes when he scored 2:28 into the extra period.

Waterloo was sparked by Lane, who had one goal and one assist.

In a losing effort, Guelph was paced by Stefano Pezzetta, who racked up two goals. Pezzetta scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 4:28 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Guelph. The Hurricanes had gained a power play chance when Anders Adzija was whistled for unsportsmanlike conduct. Brody Milne assisted on the tally. Pezzetta's next tally on the power play made the score 3-2 Guelph with 5:32 left in the second period. Milne provided the assist.

Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

Waterloo additionally got points from Joshua Slegers, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Waterloo also had goals scored by Austin Bentley and Brett Schaefer, who each put in one. In addition, Waterloo received assists from Graham Evans, Luke Gazzola, Connor Bodnar, Owen Kipke, and Nate Schnarr, who each chipped in one.

Guelph also got a goal from Sebastian Stangherlin as well. More assists for Guelph came via Cameron Stokes, who had one and Kevin Fitzpatrick, who had two.

Bailey DeGasperis rejected 26 shots on goal for the Siskins. Waterloo incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Jason DaSilva made 19 saves for Guelph on 23 shots. The Hurricanes incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
