Listowel downs Elmira in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

The Listowel Cyclones pulled out a 3-2 (OT) overtime victory over the Elmira Sugar Kings on a clutch goal by Corey Flemington.

Listowel was led by Flemington, who tallied one goal and one assist. Flemington scored 40 seconds into overtime to make the score 3-2 Listowel. Riley Robertson picked up the assist.

The Cyclones forced Elmira goalie Liam Devine to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

Listowel also got points from Robertson, who also had one goal and one assist. Caleb Warren also scored for Listowel. More assists for Listowel came via Brady Anderson, Tim Nauta, Austin Huizenga, and Jamie Huber, who each chipped in one.

The Sugar Kings' offense rang up 36 shots on Listowel's net.

Elmira was helped by Jeff Jordan, who finished with one goal. Jordan scored on the power play 12:02 into the third period to make the score 2-2. The Sugar Kings had gotten the advantage when the Cyclones' Blake Nichol was sent off for checking from behind. Ryley Cribbin provided the assist. Elmira also got a goal from Rob Kohli as well. In addition, Elmira received assists from Quinten Bruce, Zac Coulter, and Mackenzie MacSorley, who contributed one each.

Tyler Fassl made 34 saves for Listowel on 36 shots. The Cyclones incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Listowel ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Nichol was ejected from the game. Elmira's Devine stopped 37 shots out of the 40 that he faced. The Sugar Kings incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
