London pulls away in second, rolls over Lambton Shores, 10-2

The London Nationals scored five goals in the second period to pull away from the Lambton Shores Predators and clinch a 10-2 win.

London got the win behind a great game by Tanner Ferreira, who had four goals and one assist. Ferreira's first goal came 2:02 into the second period. He then added goals at 8:29 into the second, at 10:50 into the second, and at 1:13 into the third.

Lambton Shores fell victim to a deadly the Nationals power play, which ripped the Predators for four goals.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 19:19 into the second period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts.

London forced Lambton Shores' goalies to work between the pipes, launching 44 shots and forcing 34 saves. Anthony Hurtubise made 30 stops and Tyler Caruana made four. The Nationals surpassed their usual scoring output this season. This season, London averages 3.6 goals per contest.

London additionally got points from Scott Dorion, who also registered one goal and one assist and Ethan Cocurullo, who also tallied one goal and two assists. London also had goals scored by Conor Long, Scott Goodman, Rai Di Loreto, and Colin Wilson, who scored one goal each. More assists for London came via Connor Hughes, Jordan Di Cicco, and Eric Guest, who contributed one each, Derek Di Iorio, Kyle Robinson, and Kevin Madden, who each chipped in two, and Austin Kemp and Matt Bean, who contributed three each.

The Predators were often in penalty trouble, totaling seven minors and one major for 39 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 28.0 minutes per game Lambton Shores had been spending in the box. The Predators kept the Nationals' goalie busy throughout the game, and Hughes made 36 saves on 38 shots.

Lambton Shores was helped by Ethan Sarfati, who tallied one goal. Sarfati scored on the power play 9:19 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Lambton Shores. The Predators had taken the advantage when London's Dorion got sent off for roughing. Brenden Trottier assisted on the tally. Colin Burns also scored for Lambton Shores. In addition, Lambton Shores received assists from Franco Sproviero, Christian Babineau, and Sean Ross, who each chipped in one.

The Nationals ended with 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major. For London, Sam Harris was ejected from the game. Lambton Shores registered one goal on four power play opportunities. The Predators ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Connor Merritt was ejected from the game.
