Caledonia blows out Niagara Falls, 5-2Haldimand Center Sat, Oct 24, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
The Niagara Falls Canucks had trouble finding ways to stop the Caledonia Corvairs, which beat Canucks, 5-2. Caledonia's offense rang up 38 shots on Niagara Falls' net. The Corvairs were led by Jake Brown, who finished with one goal and one assist. Brown scored 9:15 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Caledonia. Todd Ratchford assisted on the tally. Caledonia also got points from Matthew Hore, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Caledonia included Matt McCartney, Matt Rimac, and Quentin Maksimovich, who scored one goal each. In addition, Caledonia received assists from Austin Brown, Mitch Graham, Ryan Punkari, Mitchell Fitzmorris, Chadd Bauman, Corey Pawley, and Tait Seguin, who each chipped in one. The Canucks stifled Caledonia's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Niagara Falls was led by Matthew Marsden, who registered one goal and one assist. Marsden scored on the power play 10:09 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Caledonia. The Canucks had gained a power play chance when Rimac was whistled for slashing. Luke Laurin picked up the assist. Niagara Falls also got a goal from Sean Farquharson as well. More assists for Niagara Falls came via Dillon Hill, who had one. Mark Sinclair made 18 saves for the Corvairs on 20 shots. Caledonia incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Niagara Falls' Joseph Murdaca stopped 33 shots out of the 38 that he faced. The Canucks incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
