The Ancaster Avalanche and the Caledonia Corvairs skate to 5-5 (OT) tie

Behind three goals from Blake Luscombe and one goal and three assists from Mitchell Fitzmorris, Caledonia tied Ancaster.

The Avalanche kept the Corvairs' goalie busy throughout the game, and Mark Sinclair made 30 saves on 35 shots.

Ancaster was helped by Ben Hughes, who racked up two goals. Hughes scored the first of his two goals at 18:55 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Ancaster. Ryan Knill assisted on the tally. Hughes' next tally made the score 5-5 with 23 seconds left in the third period. Cole Nagy picked up the assist. Ancaster additionally got points from Ryan Cox, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Ancaster also had goals scored by Michael Pollice and Owen Burnell, who each put in one. In addition, Ancaster received assists from Max Balinson, Zach Jackson, and Joshua Pace, who contributed one each.

Caledonia was not heavily penalized during the game, and finished with nine minors and one major totalling 23 minutes. The Corvairs ended up below their season average of 35.0 penalty minutes per game. Caledonia excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in seven chances. The Corvairs forced the Avalanche goalie Matt Calas to work between the pipes, taking 42 shots. Caledonia's defense let in more goals than it usually has this year. The Corvairs average 2.3 goals allowed per game.

Caledonia also got points from Fitzmorris, who also registered one goal and three assists to lead the team in points. Todd Ratchford also scored for Caledonia. Other players who recorded assists for Caledonia were Corey Pawley, who had two and Chadd Bauman, Quentin Maksimovich, Tait Seguin, and Jake Brown, who each chipped in one.

Matt Calas made 37 saves for Ancaster on 41 shots. The Avalanche incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. For Ancaster, Matt Mannella was ejected from the game. Caledonia registered two goals on six power play opportunities. The Corvairs ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Ratchford was ejected from the game.
