Chatham rips Lambton Shores, 6-2

The Chatham Maroons had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 6-2 win over the Lambton Shores Predators.

Chatham's penalty kill excelled, as the Maroons gave up one goal despite allowing six power plays.

Chatham was led by Connor Koviak, who tallied one goal. Koviak scored 8:02 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Chatham. Logan Percy assisted on the tally.

Lambton Shores was unable to stop the Maroons from sending pucks towards the net, and Chatham eventually piled up 46 shots on goal. The Maroons' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in three goals. Chatham could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 24 minutes in penalties during the game.

Chatham additionally got points from Dede Cato, who also had two goals and one assist and Ian Faubert, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Chatham included Ben Nicholls and Luc Knight, who each put in one. More assists for Chatham came via Gus Ford, who had three and Brayden Hopkins, Austin Thompson, Ross Krieger, Steven Beenackers, and Teddy McGeen, who contributed one each.

The Predators kept the Maroons' goalie busy throughout the game, and Brendan Johnston made 33 saves on 35 shots.

Lambton Shores was helped by Ryan Fraser, who grabbed one goal. Fraser scored on the power play 15:47 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Chatham. The Predators had taken the advantage when Chatham's Cato got sent off for holding. Franco Sproviero picked up the assist. Lambton Shores also got points from Ethan Sarfati, who also finished with one goal and one assist. In addition, Lambton Shores received assists from Derrick Treppa, who had one.

The Maroons registered one goal on three power play opportunities. Anthony Hurtubise made 40 saves for Lambton Shores on 46 shots. The Predators incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
