Brampton downs Elmira in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

The Brampton Bombers pulled out a 4-3 (OT) overtime victory over the Elmira Sugar Kings on a clutch goal by Lucas Goodman.

Brampton got the win on the strength of a great game by Goodman, who had two goals and one assist. Goodman scored the first of his two goals at 15:19 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Carmine Vietri provided the assist. Goodman's next tally made the score 4-3 Brampton with 18:31 left in. Nick Kiriakos assisted on the tally.

Elmira was unable to stop the Bombers from sending pucks towards the net, and Brampton eventually piled up 41 shots on goal.

Brampton also had goals scored by Brad Bollert and Mitch Shennette, who scored one goal each. In addition, Brampton received assists from Cameron Cruickshank, Ramon Lopez, and Yianni Liarakos, who contributed one each.

The Sugar Kings' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Brampton power plays. Elmira's offense rang up 45 shots on the Bombers' net. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

The Sugar Kings were helped by Ryan Walsh, who grabbed one goal. Walsh scored on the power play 5:44 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Elmira. Elmira had gained a power play chance when Jordan Oshowy was whistled for roughing. Ryley Cribbin provided the assist. Others who scored for Elmira included Ethan Skinner and Connor Hall, who each put in one. More assists for Elmira came via Zac Coulter and Ty Biles, who each chipped in one.

Jason Rhynold rejected 42 shots on goal for Brampton. The Bombers incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. For Brampton, Liarakos was ejected from the game. Mike Black recorded 37 saves for the Sugar Kings. Elmira incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. The Sugar Kings ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Kyle Soper was ejected from the game.
