St. Catharines uses big second period to beat Fort Erie, 6-1

The St. Catharines Falcons used a four-goal second period to put away the Fort Erie Meteors, 6-1.

Tyler Hildebrandt was all over the ice for St. Catharines, as he finished with two goals in the win. Hildebrandt found the back of the net 8:19 into the second period to make the score 2-0 St. Catharines and again while 19:20 into the second to make the score 4-1 St. Catharines.

The Falcons got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

St. Catharines additionally got points from Romaeo D`Intino, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Brandon Cercone, who also had one goal and one assist, and Nicholas Dozzi, who also registered one goal and one assist. St. Catharines also got a goal from Griffin Roubos as well. Other players who recorded assists for St. Catharines were Justin Felker, Jackson Parker, Ty Learn, and Evan Denley, who contributed one each and Broderick Kelly and Manny Manns, who each chipped in two.

Fort Erie did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Meteors average 3.1 goals per game.

Fort Erie was led by Ben Evans, who scored the team's only goal. Evans scored on the power play 9:20 into the second period to make the score 2-1 St. Catharines. A hooking penalty on Parker had put the Meteors on the power play. Holden Garlent assisted on the tally.

Cameron Gray recorded 15 saves for St. Catharines. The Falcons incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Fort Erie's starting goalie, Riley Daniels, made 14 saves and finished with the loss before he was taken out in favor of Brayden Lachance, who stopped nine shots. The Meteors incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
