London holds on for 3-2 win against Chatham

The Chatham Maroons tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but the London Nationals held on for a 3-2 victory.

London made the score 3-1 on a goal by Colin Wilson at 12:37 in the third period, and Chatham got as close as 3-2 when Connor Koviak scored 18:57 into the third period.

The Nationals were paced by Wilson, who finished with one goal.

London stifled the Maroons' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Chatham was unable to stop the Nationals from sending pucks towards the net, and London eventually piled up 52 shots on goal.

Others who scored for London included Kyle Robinson and Rai Di Loreto, who scored one goal each. In addition, London received assists from Austin Kemp, who had two and Kevin Madden, who had three.

The Maroons' offense rang up 33 shots on the Nationals' net.

Chatham was helped by Austin Thompson, who registered one goal. Thompson scored 13:07 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Gus Ford assisted on the tally. More assists for Chatham came via Ian Faubert, who had two.

London's Zack Weir stopped 31 shots out of the 33 that he faced. The Nationals incurred 30 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Parker Butler made 49 saves for the Maroons on 52 shots. Chatham incurred 32 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
