The St. Thomas Stars' Carson Brookshaw had a big offensive game, scoring one goal and contributing two assists in his team's 7-3 win over the St. Marys Lincolns. Brookshaw scored 15:27 into the first period to make the score 2-0 St. Thomas. Spencer Hutchinson picked up the assist. Brookshaw dished an assist on Curtis Ferreira's goal that made the score 6-2 St. Thomas at 8:24 into the third period. He added another helper on Alex Turko's goal that made the score 7-2 St. Thomas at 9:20 into the third period.St. Thomas' penalty kill excelled, as the Stars gave up zero goals despite allowing seven power plays. St. Thomas forced St. Marys' goalies to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots and forcing 26 saves. Ryan Langford made eight stops and Tyler Beattie made 18. The Stars stifled the Lincolns' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. St. Thomas bested its season scoring average. The Stars average 3.2 goals per game. The defensemen of St. Thomas were also effective in St. Marys' zone, and came away with two goals. The Stars could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 34 minutes in penalties during the game. St. Thomas also got points from Hutchinson, who also tallied one goal and two assists and Turko, who also racked up one goal and two assists. St. Thomas also had goals scored by Carson Moniz, James Newland, and Adam Keyes, who each put in one. In addition, St. Thomas received assists from Matt McJannet, who had two and Adam Truax, Jesse Anderson, and Gage Stephney, who each chipped in one. The Lincolns excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. St. Marys kept St. Thomas' goalie busy throughout the game, and Dan Black made 28 saves on 31 shots. The Lincolns were helped by Graham Brulotte, who finished with one goal. Brulotte scored 3:34 into the third period to make the score 4-2 St. Thomas. Brent House assisted on the tally. St. Marys additionally got points from House, who also had one goal and two assists to lead the team in points and Nolan King, who also registered one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for St. Marys were Jared Lindsay, Tom McHenry, and Nick Whitworth, who contributed one each. The Stars ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Jake Reed was ejected from the game. St. Marys incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
