The Caledonia Corvairs had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 5-2 win over the Thorold Blackhawks. Thorold's power play was ineffective against Caledonia's penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded. The Corvairs were sparked by Corey Pawley, who finished with one goal and one assist. Pawley scored on the power play 10:42 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Caledonia. A cross checking penalty on Tyler Sehovic had put Caledonia on the power play. JC Thivierge provided the assist. The Corvairs kept the Blackhawks' goalie busy throughout the game, and Josh Astorino made 37 saves on 42 shots. Caledonia found itself short handed often, totaling 34 penalty minutes and allowing six power plays. Others who scored for Caledonia included Riley Vanhorne, Matt Rimac, Jake Brown, and Matthew Hore, who scored one goal each. More assists for Caledonia came via Mackenzie MacSorley, who had one, Matt McCartney, who had two, and Austin Brown, who had four. Thorold was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 24 penalty minutes. The Blackhawks were helped by Nick Sacco, who grabbed one goal. Sacco scored 13:00 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Caledonia. Anthony Merante picked up the assist. In addition, Thorold received assists from Greg Christmas, Aaron Nunes, and Anthony Postiglione, who contributed one each. Mark Sinclair recorded 15 saves for the Corvairs. Caledonia registered three goals on seven power play opportunities. For Thorold, Nathan Dosa was ejected from the game.
