M1 Iowa State University beats M1 Minot State University 4-3 after comeback scare

The M1 Iowa State University Cyclones survived a determined comeback attempt by the M1 Minot State University Beavers on the way to a 4-3 win.

A goal by Colton Kramer put M1 Iowa State University up 4-2 in the second period, but M1 Minot State University pulled to within one on Robby Moar's tally 18:31 into the third period.

The Cyclones got the win thanks to a great game by Kramer, who had two goals and two assists. Kramer scored the first of his two goals at 13:46 into the second period to make the score 3-2 M1 Iowa State University. Aaron Azevedo assisted on the tally. Kramer's next tally made the score 4-2 M1 Iowa State University with 3:47 left in the second period. Azevedo provided the assist.

M1 Iowa State University's offense was clicking better than usual and put 38 shots on goal during the game, better than the 1.3 shot per game it averages.

M1 Iowa State University also got points from Tony Uglem, who also had one goal and two assists and Azevedo, who also tallied one goal and three assists. More assists for M1 Iowa State University came via Eero Helanto, who had one.

The Beavers did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. M1 Minot State University averages 5.1 goals per game. With 32 shots on target during the contest, the Beavers exceeded the 4.5 shots they average per game this year.

M1 Minot State University was helped by Austin Yano, who finished with one goal. Yano scored on the power play 19:34 into the first period to make the score 2-1 M1 Minot State University. The Beavers had gained a power play chance when Kody Reuter was whistled for hooking. Brett Nespor picked up the assist. Lyndon Lipinski also scored for M1 Minot State University. In addition, M1 Minot State University received assists from Kyle Lipinski, who had two and Jeremy Johnson, Parker Evans Campbell, and Eric Bollefer, who each chipped in one.

Matt Goedeke made 29 saves for the Cyclones on 32 shots. M1 Iowa State University incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. M1 Minot State University's starting goalie, Connor Beauchamp, made 23 saves and finished with the loss before he was taken out in favor of Ryan Miner, who stopped 11 shots. The Beavers incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
