M1 Midland University vanquishes M1 Indiana Tech in shootout, 5-4 (1-0 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as M1 Midland University defeated M1 Indiana Tech in a shootout 5-4 (1-0 SO).

The shootout featured six attempts between both teams.

Sam Turner had a great game for M1 Midland University, netting two goals. Turner's tallies came at 7:25 into the first period to make the score 1-1 and 6:31 into the third to make the score 4-3 M1 Midland University.

M1 Midland University pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 12 penalty minutes.

M1 Midland University's offense was clicking better than usual and put 37 shots on goal during the game, better than the 13.0 shots per game it averages.

M1 Midland University also got points from Bradee Thompson, who also registered one goal and one assist. M1 Midland University also got a goal from Tyler Gallagher as well. Other players who recorded assists for M1 Midland University were Matthew Blaszkiewicz and Ben Henry, who each chipped in one and Blake Neumann and Zach Voss, who contributed two each.

M1 Indiana Tech's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four M1 Midland University power plays. By firing 38 shots on goal, M1 Indiana Tech exceeded the 9.0 shots it averages per game this year.

M1 Indiana Tech was helped by Chadwick Cobb, who finished with one goal. Cobb scored 14:50 into the second period to make the score 3-3. M1 Indiana Tech additionally got points from Jace Childs, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Jarrett Pfeiffer, who also had one goal and one assist. Dominick Manochio also scored for M1 Indiana Tech. In addition, M1 Indiana Tech received assists from Ryan Theisen, who had two.

Jarin Aden recorded 34 saves for M1 Midland University. Chet Tooker made 32 saves for M1 Indiana Tech on 36 shots. M1 Indiana Tech incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
