M2 New York University holds on for 5-4 win against M2 Rensselaer Polytechnic Institut

M2 New York University survived a determined comeback attempt by M2 Rensselaer Polytechnic Institut on the way to a 5-4 win.

A goal by Denis OHara put M2 New York University up 5-2 in the second period, but M2 Rensselaer Polytechnic Institut pulled to within one on Luciano Olivieri's tally 7:58 into the third period.

M2 New York University relied on a core group of players for most of its offense, as Michael Conslato, Pete Jorgensen and OHara took 15 of the team's 28 shots. M2 New York University could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 16 minutes in penalties during the game.

M2 New York University was helped by David Shaby, who registered one goal. Shaby scored 7:38 into the first period to make the score 2-0 M2 New York University. David Morgan provided the assist. M2 New York University also had goals scored by Hamilton Whyte and Keaton Baum, who scored one goal each. More assists for M2 New York University came via James Moeller, Beau Lardner, Evan Ripley, Mason Gallegos, Steven Esposito, John Kowalewski, and Jack Orne, who each chipped in one.
