The M1 Mercyhurst University Lakers had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 5-2 win over the M1 Robert Morris Univ Pennsylvania Colonials.

M1 Mercyhurst University got the win behind a great game by Greg Marsch, who had one goal and two assists. Marsch scored 17:57 into the first period to make the score 1-0 M1 Mercyhurst University. Kevin Valasek picked up the assist.

The Lakers' penalty kill excelled, as M1 Mercyhurst University gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays.

The Lakers stifled M1 Robert Morris Univ Pennsylvania's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. By firing 36 shots on goal, M1 Mercyhurst University exceeded the 1.3 shot it averages per game this year.
