The Orange gained the winning advantage on a goal by Nolan Metzler 3:01 into the second period and hung on until final buzzer. M1 Syracuse University was led by John Ross LaPointe, who grabbed one goal and one assist. LaPointe scored 9:50 into the second period to make the score 3-1 M1 Syracuse University. Matthew DiVietro also scored for M1 Syracuse University. M1 Naval Academy ^ United States excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. The Midshipmen's offense rang up 38 shots on the Orange's net. M1 Naval Academy ^ United States was helped by John Linenger, who finished with one goal.
