M1 Syracuse University outlasts M1 Naval Academy ^ United States, 3-2

The M1 Syracuse University Orange and the M1 Naval Academy ^ United States Midshipmen were evenly matched throughout their contest, but M1 Syracuse University made the most of its opportunities and won, 3-2.

The Orange gained the winning advantage on a goal by Nolan Metzler 3:01 into the second period and hung on until final buzzer.

M1 Syracuse University was led by John Ross LaPointe, who grabbed one goal and one assist. LaPointe scored 9:50 into the second period to make the score 3-1 M1 Syracuse University.

Matthew DiVietro also scored for M1 Syracuse University.

M1 Naval Academy ^ United States excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. The Midshipmen's offense rang up 38 shots on the Orange's net.

M1 Naval Academy ^ United States was helped by John Linenger, who finished with one goal. Linenger scored on the power play 2:07 into the first period to make the score 1-0 M1 Naval Academy ^ United States. An interference penalty on Benjamin King had put the Midshipmen on the power play. Christopher Day provided the assist. M1 Naval Academy ^ United States also got a goal from Trent Lulow as well. In addition, M1 Naval Academy ^ United States received assists from Cole Maetzold, who had one.

M1 Syracuse University's Jaime Ketchabaw stopped 36 shots out of the 38 that he faced. The Orange incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Matthew Truninger made 17 saves for M1 Naval Academy ^ United States on 20 shots. The Midshipmen incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
