Port Hope blows out Picton, 7-3

The Port Hope Panthers were firing on all cylinders against the Picton Pirates, and when the final buzzer sounded Panthers emerged with a 7-3 win.

Port Hope was led by Keegan Ferguson, who had one goal. Ferguson scored on the power play 18:58 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Port Hope. The Panthers had gained a power play chance when Mitch Burke was whistled for roughing after whistle. Andrew Gurr provided the assist.

Picton was unable to stop Port Hope from sending pucks towards the net, and the Panthers eventually piled up 39 shots on goal.

Port Hope also got points from Gurr, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Dan Lagrois, who also grabbed two goals and two assists to lead the team in points, Dalton Lawrence, who also registered one goal and two assists, and Evan Foley, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Jack Vautour also scored for Port Hope. In addition, Port Hope received assists from Jon Campbell and Shawn Mackie, who each chipped in one and Cameron Lowery, Cameron McGill, and Evan Wasylyk, who contributed two each.

The Pirates could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 40 minutes in penalties during the game.

Picton was helped by Nick Devito, who had one goal. Devito scored 4:38 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Mitch Thompson picked up the assist. Picton also had goals scored by Will Harrison and Tye Eaton, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Picton were Nate Kellar, Devin McCann, and Nolan Van Vlack, who each chipped in one.

Jacob Brown (APM) rejected 17 shots on goal for Port Hope. The Panthers incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Charles Grimard made 32 saves for the Pirates on 39 shots. Picton registered one goal on four power play opportunities.
