Lagrois nets hat trick, leads Port Hope to 7-3 win over Campbellford

Dan Lagrois netted a hat trick to lead the Port Hope Panthers over the Campbellford Rebels, 7-3.

Lagrois got on the scoresheet 12:42 into the first period. He then added goals at 1:02 into the third and at 13:13 into the third.

Port Hope forced Campbellford's netminders to work between the pipes, racking up 59 shots and forcing 52 saves. Tyler Freemen made 46 stops and Cole Mahoney made six. The Panthers put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Rebels to score on any of their three power plays.

Port Hope also got points from Evan Foley, who also finished with one goal and two assists. Others who scored for Port Hope included Andrew Gurr, Blane Gaudon, and Shawn Mackie, who scored one goal each. More assists for Port Hope came via Cameron McGill, who had two, Dalton Lawrence, who had three, and Josh Geruais and Evan Wasylyk, who contributed one each.

Campbellford was helped by Jacob Trotter, who grabbed one goal. Trotter scored 15:04 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Campbellford. Dawson Ellis APM picked up the assist. Campbellford also had goals scored by Ethan McDougall and Robby Ellis, who each put in one. In addition, Campbellford received assists from Connor Petherick, Devin MacLean, and Snyder Kyle, who each chipped in one.

Aaron Young rejected 18 shots on goal for Port Hope. The Panthers totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 1-for-5 on the power play. For Port Hope, Matthew Cavanaugh was ejected from the game. The Rebels ended with 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major. Campbellford ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Ellis was ejected from the game.
