Amherstview rips Campbellford, 11-3

The Amherstview Jets had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to an 11-3 win over the Campbellford Rebels.

Amherstview got the win thanks to a great game by Dorian Overland, who had two goals and one assist. Overland scored the first of his two goals at 8:05 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Amherstview. Adam Alcorn assisted on the tally. Overland's next tally made the score 4-0 Amherstview with 17:55 left in the second period. Alcorn picked up the assist.

The Jets forced Rebels' goaltenders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, totaling 40 shots and forcing 29 saves. Cole Mahoney made 15 stops and Tyler Freemen made 14. Amherstview outdid its season average for goals scored. The Jets average 5.1 goals per game. Amherstview cashed in on power play opportunities, scoring two goals on three chances.

Amherstview additionally got points from Brett Yake, who also tallied one goal and two assists and Zach Maciel, who also registered one goal and two assists. Others who scored for Amherstview included Joey Mayer, who had three, Cody Jodoin, who had two, and Alex Rice and Dawson Chard, who scored one goal each. More assists for Amherstview came via Konner Burtenshaw, Cody Smith, Adam Kim, and Brett Maracle, who contributed one each and Jordan Howe and Max Brunner, who each chipped in two.

Ryan Kaszuba rejected 23 shots on goal for the Jets. Amherstview incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Campbellford incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
