The Napanee Raiders and the Picton Pirates skate to 5-5 (OT) tie

Behind two goals and one assist from Nick Devito and two goals and one assist from Mitch Thompson, Picton drew with Napanee 5-5 (OT).

The Raiders forced the Pirates goalie Charles Grimard to work between the pipes, taking 53 shots.

Napanee was helped by Cullen Hinds, who registered one goal and one assist. Hinds scored 15:41 into the third period to make the score 5-5. Austin Boulard provided the assist. Napanee additionally got points from Justynn Steven, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Jordan Cannons, who also had one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Napanee included Tyler Romain and Riley Steeves, who each put in one. In addition, Napanee received assists from Trent Schutt, who had two and Aidan McFarland and Chad Caskenette, who contributed one each.

The Raiders were unable to stop Picton from sending pucks towards the net, and the Pirates eventually piled up 40 shots on goal. Picton's goal total was higher than its season average. The Pirates have scored at the pace of 2.5 goals per game during the current campaign.

Picton also got points from Thompson, who also tallied two goals and one assist and Mitch Burke, who also registered one goal and one assist. More assists for Picton came via Mitchell Merry, who had two and James Pero and Tye Eaton, who each chipped in one.

Cameron Parr rejected 35 shots on goal for Napanee. The Raiders totaled 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 1-for-3 on the power play. For Napanee, Brandon Major was ejected from the game. Grimard recorded 48 saves for Picton. The Pirates totaled 23 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play. Picton ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Brad Reid was ejected from the game.
