Huge game by Hinds boosts Napanee over Picton, 7-0WJ Henderson Rec. Centre Sat, Oct 17, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
The Napanee Raiders' Cullen Hinds had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team's 7-0 win over the Picton Pirates. Hinds found the back of the net 10:46 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Napanee and again while on the power play 14:37 into the third to make the score 4-0 Napanee.Picton's nine penalties came back to haunt it, as the Pirates let up four goals while on the penalty kill. Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 10:35 into the third period. Eight fighting penalties were dished out along with seven game misconducts. Napanee excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Raiders forced Picton goalie Dustin Myskiw to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots. Napanee surpassed its usual scoring output this season. The Raiders have scored at the pace of 4.7 goals per game during the current campaign. Napanee also got points from Matt Tedford, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Michael Parr, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Aidan McFarland, who also racked up two goals and one assist, and Austin Boulard, who also registered one goal and two assists. In addition, Napanee received assists from Ryley Richardson, Riley Steeves, Zack Revell, Chad Caskanette, and Nicolas Schuler, who contributed one each. The Pirates forced their penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up five minors and four majors for 40 minutes in penalty time. Picton surpassed its season average of 21.0 penalty minutes per game. Cameron Parr made 21 saves for Napanee on 21 shots. The Raiders ended with 23 minutes in penalty time with four minors and three majors. Team's Matthew Muller, Steeves, and Jordan Cannons were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game. Myskiw recorded 27 saves for the Pirates. For Picton, Nate Kellar, Mitchell Merry, Mitch Burke, and Trey Maracle were ejected from the contest.
