M1 West Chester University pulls away in second, rolls over M1 Lehigh University, 9-3

The M1 Lehigh University Mountain Hawks was within striking distance after one period, but the M1 West Chester University Golden Rams put the pedal down in the second en route to a 9-3 victory.

M1 West Chester University got the win with help from a great game by Bill Swahl, who had two goals and one assist. Swahl scored the first of his two goals at 5:16 into the second period to make the score 4-3 M1 West Chester University. Tyler Whitacre assisted on the tally. Swahl's next tally made the score 8-3 M1 West Chester University with 14:35 left in the third period. The Golden Rams had gotten the advantage when M1 Lehigh University's Christopher Ramondelli was sent off for checking from behind. Justin Finnerty picked up the assist.

M1 West Chester University stifled the Mountain Hawks' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Golden Rams' offense rang up 33 shots on M1 Lehigh University's net. The defensemen of M1 West Chester University were also effective in the Mountain Hawks' zone, and came away with three goals.

M1 West Chester University also had goals scored by james Davis, who had three and John Mango, Manny Billones, Joseph Opdenaker, and Joseph Gibbs, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for M1 West Chester University were Ryan McMahon, who had two, Michael Dorfschneider, who had three, and Liam Zacny, Kyle Laughlin, and Anthony Valerio, who each chipped in one.

M1 Lehigh University forced the Golden Rams goalie Michael Rice to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots.

M1 Lehigh University also got points from Adam Goldstein, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Kevin McGee, who also racked up one goal and one assist. In addition, M1 Lehigh University received assists from Spencer Lehrer, who had one and Stephen Flego, who had two.

Rice recorded 28 saves for M1 West Chester University. The Golden Rams incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Patrick Walgren rejected 24 shots on goal for the Mountain Hawks. M1 Lehigh University incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
