St. Andrews College outlasts Pittsburgh Jr. Penguins U18, 4-2

The St. Andrews College Saints gutted out a close 4-2 win against Pittsburgh Jr. Penguins U18.

Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Mitchell Martan's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.

St. Andrews College was paced by Martan, who tallied one goal. Martan scored 15:32 into the third period to make the score 3-2 St. Andrews College.

The Saints were held below their usual level of production. St. Andrews College averages 6.5 goals per game. Pittsburgh Jr. Penguins U18 was unable to stop the Saints from sending pucks towards the net, and St. Andrews College eventually piled up 34 shots on goal.

St. Andrews College also had goals scored by Lucas Thorne, Alex MacDonald, and Ryan OConnell, who scored one goal each. In addition, St. Andrews College received assists from Noah Lugli, Jacob Miller, and Corey Andonovski, who each chipped in one.

Pittsburgh Jr. Penguins U18 was helped by Connor Quinn, who racked up one goal. Quinn scored 10:25 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Eric Cooley provided the assist. Pittsburgh Jr. Penguins U18 also got a goal from Jordan Timmons as well. More assists for Pittsburgh Jr. Penguins U18 came via Tyler Hudak, who had one.

Cole Chapman made 26 saves for the Saints on 28 shots. St. Andrews College incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Chad Veltri recorded 30 saves for Pittsburgh Jr. Penguins U18. Pittsburgh Jr. Penguins U18 incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
