The M1 Drexel University Dragons beat the M1 Towson University Tigers, 3-1, in a contest where the winning goal was scored in the first period but the game remained close throughout.

A goal 2:30 into the first period by Tyler Shagen proved to be the game winner, and powered M1 Drexel University to the victory. Zach Paro picked up the assist.

The Dragons' Zachary Kantner was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 38 saves and let only one puck past him. Kantner managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 2.81 prior to the game.

M1 Drexel University was paced by Christopher Carroll, who finished with one goal. Carroll scored on the power play 2:48 into the second period to make the score 2-0 M1 Drexel University. Christopher Hagen assisted on the tally.

The Dragons' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five M1 Towson University power plays. M1 Drexel University's offense rang up 40 shots on M1 Towson University's net.

Dylan Hart also scored for M1 Drexel University. In addition, M1 Drexel University received assists from Mike Churchvara and Jim Mikalic, who contributed one each.

The Tigers could not produce up to their normal offensive output. M1 Towson University averages 3.3 goals per game. The Tigers forced the Dragons goalie Kantner to work between the pipes, taking 39 shots. M1 Towson University struggled on the penalty kill, allowing M1 Drexel University to score two power play goals on three chances.

The Tigers were led by Matthew Mcguire, who scored the team's only goal. Mcguire scored 2:31 into the third period to make the score 2-1 M1 Drexel University. Nicholas Vonakis provided the assist.
