M1 Buffalo ^ University at uses shootout to best M1 Syracuse University, 2-1 (2-1 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the M1 Buffalo ^ University at Bulls defeated the M1 Syracuse University Orange in a shootout 2-1 (2-1 SO).

The shootout featured five attempts between both teams. M1 Syracuse University got a shootout goal from John Ross LaPointe. M1 Buffalo ^ University at's other shootout goal was scored by Eric Nestler.

The Bulls overcame a one-goal deficit to capture the victory. M1 Buffalo ^ University at fell behind 1-0 after a goal by the Orange's LaPointe at 14:25 in the first period. The Bulls tied things up at 1-1 on a goal by Richard Ledyard at 18:20 in the first period.

M1 Buffalo ^ University at stifled M1 Syracuse University's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Bulls' offense operated below their season average.
