M1 Non-ACHA Team falls to M1 Syracuse University in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

The M1 Syracuse University Orange pulled out a 4-3 (OT) overtime victory over M1 Non-ACHA Team on a clutch goal by John Ross LaPointe.

LaPointe had two goals and two assists to lead M1 Syracuse University. LaPointe scored the first of his two goals short handed at 9:23 into the third period to make the score 3-3. The Orange found themselves down a man on Nolan Metzler's cross checking. Robert VanRaamsdonk picked up the assist. LaPointe's next tally short handed made the score 4-3 M1 Syracuse University with 19:24 left in overtime. Metzler assisted on the tally.

M1 Syracuse University forced its penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up seven minors and one major for 29 minutes in penalty time. The Orange surpassed its season average of 17.0 penalty minutes per game. M1 Syracuse University forced M1 Non-ACHA Team goalie Number One to work between the pipes, taking 53 shots. The Orange were ineffective while on the power play, as they were held to one goal off of nine man advantages.

M1 Syracuse University additionally got points from Metzler, who also registered one goal and one assist. Brendan Flanagan also scored for M1 Syracuse University. In addition, M1 Syracuse University received assists from Robert Amos, Ben Silver, and Connor Rotenberg, who each chipped in one.

Number One made 49 saves for M1 Non-ACHA Team on 53 shots. M1 Non-ACHA Team registered two goals on six power play opportunities.
