MNEPDL North 16U rips Texas Jr. Brahmas 16U, 8-0

MNEPDL North 16U had a four-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to an 8-0 win over Texas Jr. Brahmas 16U.

Texas Jr. Brahmas 16U's power play was ineffective against MNEPDL North 16U's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

MNEPDL North 16U stifled Texas Jr. Brahmas 16U's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. MNEPDL North 16U forced Texas Jr. Brahmas 16U goalie Brayden Mullins to work between the pipes, taking 37 shots.

MNEPDL North 16U was helped by Jarod Blackowiak, who tallied two goals and one assist. Blackowiak scored the first of his two goals at 44 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 MNEPDL North 16U. Cole Dutko provided the assist. Blackowiak's next tally made the score 7-0 MNEPDL North 16U with 13:56 left in the third period. Vann Hartigan picked up the assist. MNEPDL North 16U also got points from Hartigan, who also had one goal and one assist, Mitch Machlitt, who also finished with one goal and two assists, and Ryan Pogue, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Max Johnson also scored for MNEPDL North 16U. Other players who recorded assists for MNEPDL North 16U were Jack Hennemann and Max Herzog, who each chipped in one and Kyler Yeo and Wyatt Thole, who contributed two each.

Texas Jr. Brahmas 16U put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow MNEPDL North 16U to score on any of its three power plays. Texas Jr. Brahmas 16U did not challenge the opposing netminder, only getting 14 shots on net to force 14 saves.

MNEPDL North 16U took out Reid Waszczenko after he had made eight saves and installed Alex Brigino in goal, where he finished with six saves and the win. MNEPDL North 16U incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Brayden Mullins made 29 saves for Texas Jr. Brahmas 16U on 37 shots. Texas Jr. Brahmas 16U incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors.
