Dietz nets hat trick, leads M1 Cornell University to 9-1 win over M1 Ithaca College

The M1 Ithaca College Bombers could not stop the M1 Cornell University Big Red's Parker Dietz, who tallied a hat trick in a 9-1 win.

Dietz got on the scoresheet 3:56 into the second period. He then added goals at 4:05 into the second and at 2:37 into the third.

M1 Cornell University was led by goalie Conor Bunyan, who finished with 26 saves while allowing one goal. Bunyan managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 2.0 prior to the game.

The Big Red's penalty kill excelled, as M1 Cornell University gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays.

The Big Red stifled M1 Ithaca College's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. M1 Cornell University's goal total was higher than its season average. The Big Red average 5.1 goals per game. The 59 shots that M1 Cornell University put on net surpassed the Big Red's average of 0.3 shots per game this season.

M1 Cornell University additionally got points from Thomas Carpenter, who also registered two goals and one assist to lead the team in points. Others who scored for M1 Cornell University included Tedric Bellis, Tyler Khilnani, Matthew Blakley, and Brendan Brown, who each put in one. In addition, M1 Cornell University received assists from Brian Schiff, who had two and Chase Habig, Nathaniel Welsh, Phil Variano, and Ryan Hornung, who contributed one each.
