M1 Rochester Institute of Technolog rolls over M1 Ithaca College, 8-1

The M1 Rochester Institute of Technolog Tigers were firing on all cylinders against the M1 Ithaca College Bombers, and when the final buzzer sounded Tigers emerged with an 8-1 win.

Daniel Miller had two goals and one assist to lead M1 Rochester Institute of Technolog. Miller scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 18:56 into the first period to make the score 3-1 M1 Rochester Institute of Technolog. A tripping penalty on Dan Stalica had put the Tigers on the power play. Nigel Honegger provided the assist. Miller's next tally on the power play made the score 5-1 M1 Rochester Institute of Technolog with 18:01 left in the third period. Jacob Zaremski picked up the assist.

M1 Rochester Institute of Technolog's Gavin Lewis was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 25 saves and let only one puck past him. Lewis certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 5.96 entering the contest.

The Tigers were often in penalty trouble, totaling seven minors and one major for 29 minutes in penalty time. M1 Rochester Institute of Technolog had been averaging 15.0 minutes in penalties per game. The Tigers forced Bombers' goaltenders to work all game long, finishing with 59 shots and forcing 51 saves. Jonathan Lipshutz made 40 stops and Sam Attias made 11. M1 Rochester Institute of Technolog put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow M1 Ithaca College to score on any of its six power plays. The Tigers' goal total was higher than their season average. This season, M1 Rochester Institute of Technolog averages 0.8 goals per contest.

M1 Rochester Institute of Technolog also had goals scored by Kenny Luzak and Nicholas Washco, who scored two goals each and Tyler Devore and Jake Wexler, who each put in one.
