M1 Ithaca College vanquishes M1 Saint Bonaventure University in shootout, 7-6 (1-0 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the M1 Ithaca College Bombers defeated the M1 Saint Bonaventure University Bonnies in a shootout 7-6 (1-0 SO).

The shootout lasted for six attempts between the teams.

M1 Ithaca College's penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled nine minors and one major for 33 minutes in penalty time. The Bombers surpassed its season average of 22.0 penalty minutes per game. M1 Ithaca College forced M1 Saint Bonaventure University goalie James Diblasi to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots. The Bombers outdid their season average for goals scored. M1 Ithaca College has scored at the pace of 3.2 goals per game during the current campaign.

The Bombers were led by Liam Barry, who registered three goals and two assists. M1 Ithaca College also got points from Collin Bradley, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Ryan Krohto, who also racked up two goals and one assist. More assists for M1 Ithaca College came via Andy Rossler, who had one and Tim Foster, who had two.

The Bonnies were ineffective while on the power play, as they were held to two goals off of 12 man advantages. M1 Saint Bonaventure University put 51 shots on net during the contest, more than the 1.3 it averages per game. The Bonnies' penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as M1 Saint Bonaventure University finished with 16 penalty minutes.

The Bonnies were led by Ethan Mackrell, who tallied two goals and one assist. Mackrell scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 17:37 into the second period to make the score 3-2 M1 Ithaca College. M1 Saint Bonaventure University had gained a power play chance when Rossler was whistled for roughing. Michael Cumbo picked up the assist. Mackrell's next tally on the power play made the score 6-6 with 4:36 left in the third period. A holding penalty on Krohto had put the Bonnies on the power play. Sean Devine assisted on the tally. M1 Saint Bonaventure University additionally got points from Tyler Gokey, who also registered one goal and one assist and Andrew Chadwick, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. John Rogers also scored for M1 Saint Bonaventure University. In addition, M1 Saint Bonaventure University received assists from Evan Wohlabaugh and Andrew Hayn, who contributed one each.

Jonathan Lipshutz rejected 45 shots on goal for M1 Ithaca College. The Bombers registered two goals on six power play opportunities. M1 Saint Bonaventure University's Diblasi stopped 25 shots out of the 31 that he faced.
