M1 Cornell University falls to M1 Ithaca College in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

The M1 Ithaca College Bombers pulled out a 4-3 (OT) overtime victory over the M1 Cornell University Big Red on a clutch goal by Ryan Murtagh.

Ryan Krohto had a great game for M1 Ithaca College, netting two goals. Krohto found the back of the net on the power play 33 seconds into the second period to make the score 2-0 M1 Ithaca College and again while 8:09 into the third to make the score 3-2 M1 Ithaca College.

The Bombers forced M1 Cornell University goalie Patrick Russell to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots.

M1 Ithaca College additionally got points from Tim Foster, who also tallied one goal and two assists to lead the team in points and Murtagh, who also finished with one goal and one assist. In addition, M1 Ithaca College received assists from Andy Rossler, who had one and Nick Mecca, who had two.

The Big Red's offense rang up 48 shots on M1 Ithaca College's net.

M1 Cornell University was led by Brian Schiff, who registered one goal and one assist. Schiff scored on the power play 6:44 into the third period to make the score 2-2. The Big Red had gained a power play chance when Krohto was whistled for boarding. Thomas Suesser picked up the assist. Others who scored for M1 Cornell University included Tyler Khilani and Nathaniel Welsh, who scored one goal each.

Jonathan Lipshutz made 45 saves for the Bombers on 48 shots. M1 Ithaca College incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Russell rejected 27 shots on goal for M1 Cornell University. The Big Red totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 2-for-6 on the power play.
