Behind two goals and two assists from Steven Dol and one goal and two assists from Derek Nichols, the Thorold Athletics downed the Whitby Dunlops 6-3.

Dol scored the first of his two goals at 8:36 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Thorold. Nichols assisted on the tally. Dol's next tally made the score 6-3 Thorold with eight seconds left in the third period. Nichols scored 27 seconds into the second period to make the score 1-1. Dol provided the assist.

Thorold managed to stay out of the box better than usual, tallying one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The Athletics ended up below its season average of 17.0 penalty minutes per game.

Thorold additionally got points from JJ Martin, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Nichols, who also had one goal and two assists, and Tyler Turcotte, who also registered one goal and one assist. Thorold also got a goal from Nicholas Letempio as well. In addition, Thorold received assists from Anthony Scornaienchi, Jay Hill, and Ben MacAskill, who contributed one each.

Whitby was held below its usual level of production. The Dunlops put an average of 5.4 pucks into the net per game. Thorold was unable to stop Whitby from sending pucks towards the net, and the Dunlops eventually piled up 43 shots on goal.

Whitby was led by Kyle Ventura, who finished with two goals. Ventura scored the first of his two goals at 19:36 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Whitby. Darren Doherty picked up the assist. Ventura's next tally made the score 2-2 with 17:28 left in the second period. Jason Dale assisted on the tally. Patrick Jobb also scored for Whitby. More assists for Whitby came via Shane Terry, who had one.

Colin Dunne recorded 40 saves for the Athletics. Thorold registered zero goals on two power play opportunities. The Dunlops' Jason Guy stopped 21 shots out of the 26 that he faced. Whitby incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
