Brantford completes comeback, beats Stoney Creek, 6-5Brantford Civic Centre Fri, Dec 18, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
The Stoney Creek Generals could not hold down the Brantford Blast, and Blast erased a two-goal deficit en route to a 6-5 win. Brantford let multiple leads slip away before eventually digging out of a two hole to pick up the win. The Blast took a 1-0 advantage on a goal by Cameron Sault at 4:47 in the first period. Brantford found itself down 5-3 after Stoney Creek's Mike Ruberto put the puck home at 56 seconds in the third period. After evening things up at 5-5 on a goal by Mark Taylor at 7:30 in the third, the Blast got the game-winner from Dustin Alcock at 17:48 in the third period. Brantford kept the Generals' goalie busy throughout the game, and Daniel Svedin made 28 saves on 34 shots. Brantford also got points from Taylor, who also had one goal and one assist, Joel Prpic, who also racked up one goal and one assist, and Chris Leveille, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Brantford were Derek Foam, who had one and Chris Rebernik and Derek Medeiros, who each chipped in three. The Blast were unable to stop Stoney Creek from sending pucks towards the net, and the Generals eventually piled up 50 shots on goal. Others who scored for Stoney Creek included Nikola Bibic, Nathan Pageau, and Tyler Donati, who each put in one. In addition, Stoney Creek received assists from Jarrett Konkle, who had three and Chris Knighton and Andrew Radjenovic, who contributed one each. Brett Leggat made 45 saves for Brantford on 50 shots. The Blast incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Stoney Creek incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
