The Thorold Athletics jumped out to a six-point advantage by the end of the first period and beat the Hamilton Steelhawks, 13-4. Chris Risi had two goals and two assists to lead Thorold. Risi scored the first of his two goals at 8:10 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Thorold. John Falzoi assisted on the tally. Risi's next tally made the score 9-1 Thorold with 16:19 left in the second period. Brad Jackson picked up the assist. The Steelhawks were helped by Joel Petkoff, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Petkoff scored 17:24 into the second period to make the score 12-3 Thorold. Tony Iaquinto assisted on the tally. Hamilton also had goals scored by Cody Wilson, Stuart Isnor, and Alexander Aquinn, who each put in one.
