Penetang downs Schomberg, 6-3

Nate Archer finished with one point to lead the Penetang Kings to a 6-3 victory over the Schomberg Cougars.

Penetang excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. The Kings forced Schomberg goalie Vince Michelizzi to work between the pipes, taking 42 shots. Penetang's goal total was higher than its season average. This season, the Kings average 3.4 goals per contest.

Penetang also got points from Craig Robinson, who also tallied one goal and three assists to lead the team in points, Brad Kuepfer, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Matt Cochrane, who also had one goal and one assist, and Matt VanBoven, who also registered one goal and one assist. Penetang also got a goal from Ben Sly as well. In addition, Penetang received assists from Matt Prucha, who had two and Aidan Robitaille, Michael Greco, and Andrew North, who each chipped in one.

Penetang was unable to stop the Cougars from sending pucks towards the net, and Schomberg eventually piled up 49 shots on goal.

The Cougars were led by Blake Culley, who tallied one goal and one assist. Culley scored 3:52 into the third period to make the score 4-3 Penetang. Kiefer McIntosh assisted on the tally. Schomberg additionally got points from McIntosh, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Carter LeRoux also scored for Schomberg. More assists for Schomberg came via Liam Spurgeon and Mitchell Robinson, who contributed one each.

Andrew North made 46 saves for the Kings on 49 shots. Penetang incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Schomberg's Michelizzi stopped 36 shots out of the 41 that he faced. The Cougars incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
