M1 Syracuse University survives M1 Canisius College comeback, wins 3-2

The M1 Canisius College Golden Griffins tried their best to erase a two-goal deficit, but the M1 Syracuse University Orange would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 3-2.

A goal by Connor McNamara put M1 Syracuse University up 3-1 in the third period, but M1 Canisius College pulled to within one on Stan Pawlow's tally 10:20 into the third period.

The Orange pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 30 penalty minutes.

M1 Syracuse University forced the Golden Griffins goalie Hiroyasu Takahashi to work between the pipes, taking 49 shots.

Others who scored for M1 Syracuse University included Benjamin King and Nolan Metzler, who each put in one. In addition, M1 Syracuse University received assists from Thomas DiPasquale, Robert VanRaamsdonk, William Franzese, and Matthew DiVietro, who contributed one each.

M1 Canisius College stifled the Orange's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Golden Griffins did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. M1 Canisius College puts an average of 4.1 pucks into the net per game. The 45 shots that the Golden Griffins put on net surpassed M1 Canisius College's average of 0.2 shots per game this season.
