M1 Canisius College blows out M1 Ithaca College, 14-3

The M1 Ithaca College Bombers had trouble finding ways to stop the M1 Canisius College Golden Griffins, which beat Bombers, 14-3.

M1 Canisius College got the win on the strength of a great game by Andrew Ferrentino, who had two goals and three assists. Ferrentino scored the first of his two goals at 3:42 into the third period to make the score 9-3 M1 Canisius College. Patrick Hurtubise picked up the assist. Ferrentino's next tally made the score 14-3 M1 Canisius College with 3:59 left in the third period.

In a losing effort, M1 Ithaca College was sparked by Nick Mecca, who had two goals and one assist. Mecca scored the first of his two goals at 5:06 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Tim Foster provided the assist. Mecca's next tally made the score 4-2 M1 Canisius College with 14:13 left in the second period. Collin Bradley assisted on the tally.

The Golden Griffins found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. This season, M1 Canisius College averages 4.5 goals per contest. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with three goals. By firing 62 shots on goal, the Golden Griffins exceeded the 0.2 shots they average per game this year.

M1 Canisius College also got points from Samuel Burkhardt, who also registered one goal and two assists, Brandon Bork, who also racked up one goal and two assists, Jesse Caulkins, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Jess Hackett, who also grabbed one goal and two assists. M1 Canisius College also had goals scored by Nathan Smith and Zachary Grace, who scored two goals each and Brandin Cousineau, Stan Pawlow, Matt Wisotzke, and Justin Dichristopher, who each put in one. In addition, M1 Canisius College received assists from Preston Mackert, who had two and Matthew Muszynski and Mike Held, who contributed three each.

M1 Ithaca College also got a goal from Ryan Murtagh as well. More assists for M1 Ithaca College came via Liam Barry, who had one.

M1 Canisius College's Yvon Boulet stopped 19 shots out of the 22 that he faced. The Golden Griffins incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Sam Attias made 48 saves for the Bombers on 62 shots. M1 Ithaca College incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
