M1 Indiana Tech's Childs deadly on offense in 8-4 win against M1 Canisius College

M1 Indiana Tech relied on the scoring touch of Jace Childs, who netted four goals, to beat the M1 Canisius College Golden Griffins, 8-4.

Childs notched his first tally 3:28 into the first period. He then added goals at 9:08 into the second, at 14:18 into the second, and at 13:43 into the third.

M1 Indiana Tech surpassed its usual scoring output this season. M1 Indiana Tech averages 5.9 goals per game. M1 Indiana Tech's offense was clicking better than usual and put 36 shots on goal during the game, better than the 9.0 shots per game it averages.

M1 Indiana Tech also got points from Chad Frost, who also finished with one goal and one assist. M1 Indiana Tech also had goals scored by Brandon Gallo, Ryan Attwood, and Anthony Passarelli, who each put in one. More assists for M1 Indiana Tech came via Quentin Holmes, Kyle Cobb, Brian Skillicorn, Jarrett Pfeiffer, Ryan Theisen, Nicholas Denice, and Adam Jonak, who contributed one each and Zachary Morlock, Dominick Manochio, and Alex Gregorich, who each chipped in two.

M1 Canisius College forced M1 Indiana Tech goalie John Slavik to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots.

The Golden Griffins were helped by Jess Hackett, who racked up one goal. Hackett scored 14:35 into the first period to make the score 3-1 M1 Indiana Tech. Patrick Hurtubise picked up the assist. Jesse Caulkins also scored for M1 Canisius College. In addition, M1 Canisius College received assists from Stan Pawlow, Mike Held, and Daniel Stenzel, who contributed one each.

John Slavik made 30 saves for M1 Indiana Tech on 34 shots. M1 Indiana Tech incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. M1 Canisius College's starting goalie, Hiroyasu Takahashi, made 17 saves and finished with the loss before he was taken out in favor of Yvon Boulet, who stopped 11 shots. The Golden Griffins incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
