M1 Indiana Tech rips M1 Canisius College, 8-3

M1 Indiana Tech had a four-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to an 8-3 win over the M1 Canisius College Golden Griffins.

M1 Indiana Tech got the win on the strength of a great game by Ryan Theisen, who had one goal and three assists. Theisen scored 7:42 into the first period to make the score 2-0 M1 Indiana Tech. Jace Childs provided the assist.

M1 Indiana Tech pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 12 penalty minutes.

M1 Indiana Tech put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow M1 Canisius College to score on any of its six power plays. M1 Indiana Tech surpassed its usual scoring output this season. This season, M1 Indiana Tech averages 5.9 goals per contest. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals. M1 Indiana Tech put 46 shots on net during the contest, more than the 8.9 it averages per game.

M1 Indiana Tech also got points from Quentin Holmes, who also finished with one goal and two assists and Zachary Morlock, who also had two goals and two assists. M1 Indiana Tech also had goals scored by Nicholas Denice, who had two and Jarrett Pfeiffer and Adam Jonak, who each put in one. More assists for M1 Indiana Tech came via Kyle Cobb, Brian Skillicorn, Giuseppe Molfetta, and Hudson Sabin, who contributed one each.

The Golden Griffins' penalty kill unit could not stop M1 Indiana Tech's power play, which converted on three of four opportunities.

M1 Canisius College was led by Andrew Ferrentino, who tallied one goal and two assists. Ferrentino scored 13:14 into the first period to make the score 3-1 M1 Indiana Tech. Jess Hackett picked up the assist. M1 Canisius College additionally got points from Stan Pawlow, who also registered one goal and one assist. Brandon Bork also scored for M1 Canisius College. Other players who recorded assists for M1 Canisius College were Matthew Muszynski, who had one.

M1 Indiana Tech's Chet Tooker stopped 22 shots out of the 25 that he faced. Hiroyasu Takahashi made 23 saves before being replaced by Alvin Dow, who took the loss and made 15 saves. The Golden Griffins incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
