M1 Canisius College rolls over M1 Penn State University Berks, 4-1

The M1 Canisius College Golden Griffins were firing on all cylinders against the M1 Penn State University Berks Nittany Lions, and when the final buzzer sounded Golden Griffins emerged with a 4-1 win.

M1 Penn State University Berks was stymied by M1 Canisius College's netminder Yvon Boulet, who stopped 27 shots during the victory. Boulet certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 4.8 entering the contest.

The Golden Griffins' penalty kill excelled, as M1 Canisius College gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays.

The Golden Griffins stifled the Nittany Lions' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. M1 Canisius College's offense rang up 37 shots on M1 Penn State University Berks' net.

The Golden Griffins were led by Spencer Casselberry, who finished with one goal and one assist. Casselberry scored 17:20 into the first period to make the score 2-0 M1 Canisius College. Zachary Grace provided the assist. Others who scored for M1 Canisius College included Matthew Madden, Andrew Ferrentino, and Daniel Stenzel, who each put in one. In addition, M1 Canisius College received assists from Brandin Cousineau and Matthew Muszynski, who each chipped in one.

The Nittany Lions put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow M1 Canisius College to score on any of its four power plays. M1 Penn State University Berks could not produce up to its normal offensive output. The Nittany Lions average 3.6 goals per game.

The Golden Griffins incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Justin Golia recorded 33 saves for M1 Penn State University Berks. The Nittany Lions incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
