Blenheim hangs on, beats Amherstburg 2-0

The Blenheim Blades took the lead against the Amherstburg Integrity Admirals in the first period and maintained it until the end of the game to secure a tight 2-0 victory.

Blenheim took over the lead for good with a goal by Brendan Ritchie at 18:14 in the first period. Owen Bateman provided the assist.

The Blades were boosted by Klinton Kenney, who turned in a shutout with 27 saves. Kenney certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.74 entering the contest.

Blenheim was led by Ritchie, who tallied one goal.

The Blades excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances.

Blenheim also got a goal from Dustin Maines as well. Other players who recorded assists for Blenheim were George Wood, Kirk McKillop, and Drew Marlatt, who each chipped in one.

Amherstburg could not produce up to its normal offensive output. The Integrity Admirals put an average of 4.3 pucks into the net per game.

Blenheim incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Amherstburg's Connor Meyerink stopped 27 shots out of the 29 that he faced. The Integrity Admirals incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
