Amherstburg downs Wallaceburg, 5-2

The Amherstburg Integrity Admirals won 5-2 over the Wallaceburg Lakers.

Amherstburg forced Wallaceburg's netminders to work all game long, racking up 52 shots and forcing 47 saves. Alex Carriere made zero stops and George Hill made 47.

The Integrity Admirals were helped by Travis Campbell, who grabbed one goal. Campbell scored 5:20 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Amherstburg. Jordan Luciw assisted on the tally. Others who scored for Amherstburg included Broden Meloche, who had two and James Brooks and Lucas Bersuk, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Amherstburg were Dylan Muzzatti, who had two and Curtis Prymack, Marshal Laing, Ryan Holzel, Ryan Alexander, Chad Copeland, and Spencer McConville, who contributed one each.

The Lakers excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in eight chances. Wallaceburg could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 38 minutes in penalties during the game.

The Lakers were led by Bronson Bea, who registered one goal. Bea scored on the power play 1:37 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Amherstburg. A roughing penalty on Dean Patterson had put Wallaceburg on the power play. Cory Lucier picked up the assist. Justin Lindsay also scored for Wallaceburg. More assists for Wallaceburg came via Tyler McLean, Justin Melo, and Dak Johnstone, who each chipped in one.

Amherstburg's Daniel Tonietto stopped 23 shots out of the 25 that he faced. The Integrity Admirals incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Lakers registered one goal on five power play opportunities.
