Mooretown erases deficit to stun Dresden, 3-2

Undaunted by a two-goal deficit, the Mooretown Flags battled back to claim a 3-2 victory over the Dresden Kings.

Mooretown never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Flags trailed 2-0 after a goal by Dresden's Kevin Ritzer at 24 seconds in the second period. Mooretown knotted things up at 2-2 on a goal by Nolan Riley at 15:44 in the third period. The Flags netted the game winner at 18:49 in the third period on a goal by Riley.

Riley had a great game for Mooretown, netting two goals.

Mike Kindrachuk also scored for Mooretown. More assists for Mooretown came via Colin Osler, who had one, Ben Morrison, who had two, and Alec Segers, who had three.

The Kings' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Mooretown power plays.

Dresden also got a goal from Ben Nicholls as well. In addition, Dresden received assists from Derrick VanEvery, who had one and Dillon Liberty, who had two.

The Flags' Brandon Johnson stopped 25 shots out of the 27 that he faced. Mooretown incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Joel Sowinski made 25 saves for Dresden on 28 shots. The Kings incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
