The Dresden Kings' Derek Daly scored 3:57 into overtime to beat the Alvinston Flyers, 6-5 (OT). Dresden got the win behind a great game by Kevin Ritzer, who had two goals and two assists. Ritzer scored the first of his two goals at 18:52 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Isaac McLean picked up the assist. Ritzer's next tally made the score 3-3 with 3:32 left in the second period. Derrick VanEvery assisted on the tally. The Kings found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. This season, Dresden averages 3.8 goals per contest. Dresden additionally got points from Will Tetzlaff, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Dresden included Derek Shaw and Macks Holmes, who each put in one. More assists for Dresden came via Logan Purbrick and Kyle Dawson, who contributed one each. Alvinston's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Dresden power plays. The Flyers forced the Kings goalie Travis Moore to work between the pipes, taking 45 shots. Alvinston was helped by Kole Keating, who registered two goals. Keating scored the first of his two goals at 6:37 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Alvinston. Keating's next tally made the score 3-2 Alvinston with 4:38 left in the second period. A slashing penalty on Holmes had put the Flyers on the power play. Karsten Berg picked up the assist. Alvinston also got a goal from Jeremy VanDeven as well. In addition, Alvinston received assists from Zach VanEyk, who had two and Clint Rose, Brady Swan, Fraser Wilson, and Carter Campbell, who each chipped in one. Moore recorded 40 saves for Dresden. The Kings incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. For Dresden, Brady Hogg and Shaw were ejected from the contest. Alvinston's Cam MacAlpine stopped 24 shots out of the 30 that he faced. The Flyers incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
