Essex downs Blenheim, 3-1

Dallas Pereira tallied one point to lead the Essex 73s to a 3-1 victory over the Blenheim Blades.

Essex put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Blenheim to score on any of its four power plays. The 73s' offense operated below their season average. Essex puts an average of 5.1 pucks into the net per game. The 73s' offense rang up 39 shots on the Blades' net.

Essex also got points from William Stadder, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Michael Vieira also scored for Essex. Other players who recorded assists for Essex were Brett Vorshuk, Alixe Saliba, and Luke Gecse, who each chipped in one.

Blenheim did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Blades average 4.2 goals per game.

Blenheim was led by Dustin Maines, who scored the team's only goal. Maines scored 1:31 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Brayden Hopkins picked up the assist.

Trevor Wheaton rejected 14 shots on goal for Essex. The 73s incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Eric Stewardson made 36 saves for the Blades on 39 shots. Blenheim incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
