Ritzer lifts Dresden over Lakeshore, 5-2

The Dresden Kings relied on the scoring touch of Kevin Ritzer, who netted two goals, to beat the Lakeshore Canadiens, 5-2.

Ritzer scored at 4:16 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Dresden and again while 13:52 into the second to make the score 3-2 Dresden.

Dresden additionally got points from Logan Purbrick, who also had one goal and two assists and Isaac McLean, who also registered one goal and one assist. Kyle Dawson also scored for Dresden. In addition, Dresden received assists from Dillon Liberty, who had three and Derek Shaw and Derrick VanEvery, who each chipped in two.

Lakeshore was led by Zack Bedard, who tallied two goals. Bedard scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 12:35 into the first period to make the score 1-1. The Canadiens had gotten the advantage when Dresden's Carter Smith was sent off for hooking. Michael Long picked up the assist. Bedard's next tally on the power play made the score 2-2 with 18:17 left in the second period. More assists for Lakeshore came via Hunter Corp, who had one.

The Kings' Travis Moore stopped 27 shots out of the 29 that he faced. Dresden incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Brendan Shuck made 20 saves for Lakeshore on 25 shots. The Canadiens incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
