Blenheim's Clark deadly on offense in 6-2 win against Alvinston

Matt Clark was all over the ice for the Blenheim Blades, as he tallied two goals in Blenheim's 6-2 win over the Alvinston Flyers.

Clark scored on the power play at 7:28 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Blenheim and again while 25 seconds into the third to make the score 5-2 Blenheim.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 14:58 into the first period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts.

The Blades kept Alvinston's goalie busy throughout the game, and Matt Boere made 30 saves on 36 shots. Blenheim was effective with a man advantage, and put in two goals while on the power play. The Blades got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

Blenheim also had goals scored by Lucas Hickey, Bryan Boersma, Kellen Kaniecki, and Nick Delyzer, who scored one goal each. More assists for Blenheim came via Kirk McKillop, who had three, Zack Horvath and Corbin Hagerman, who each chipped in one, and Hunter Burk and Dustin Maines, who contributed two each.

The Flyers were helped by Frankie White, who grabbed one goal. White scored 10:54 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Blenheim. Kirklin Dorman assisted on the tally. Kole Keating also scored for Alvinston. In addition, Alvinston received assists from Patrick Wright, Clint Rose, and Karsten Berg, who each chipped in one.

Klinton Kenney recorded 23 saves for Blenheim. The Blades ended with nine minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major. Blenheim ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Brayden Hopkins was ejected from the game. Alvinston totaled 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play. For the Flyers, Rose was ejected from the game.
