The Mooretown Flags and the Dresden Kings skate to 3-3 (OT) tieMooretown Rink 1 Sat, Nov 21, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
Dresden found itself down againt Mooretown, but battled back to secure to a 3-3 (OT) tie. The Flags kept the Kings' goalie busy throughout the game, and Travis Moore made 32 saves on 35 shots. Mooretown could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 18 minutes in penalties during the game. The Flags were helped by Nolan Riley, who had one goal. Riley scored 7:19 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Mooretown. Alec Segers assisted on the tally. Others who scored for Mooretown included Ryan Lyle and Kyle Smith, who each put in one. In addition, Mooretown received assists from Joe DeSena, Jakob Reeves, Matt Brandon, and Ben Morrison, who contributed one each. Dresden put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Mooretown to score on any of its three power plays. The Flags were unable to stop the Kings from sending pucks towards the net, and Dresden eventually piled up 45 shots on goal. The Kings were helped by Kevin Ritzer, who grabbed one goal. Ritzer scored on the power play 3:27 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Mooretown. Dresden had taken the advantage when Mooretown's Smith got sent off for high sticking. Will Tetzlaff picked up the assist. Dresden also had goals scored by John Montgomery and Kyle Dawson, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Dresden were Taylor Sisson, Dillon Liberty, and Derrick VanEvery, who each chipped in one. Brandon Johnson recorded 42 saves for the Flags. The Kings incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with two minors.
