VandenBoorn's hat trick boosts Blenheim over Mooretown, 7-4

The Mooretown Flags could not stop the Blenheim Blades' Nolan VandenBoorn, who tallied a hat trick in a 7-4 win.

VandenBoorn got on the scoresheet 3:55 into the second period. He then added goals at 9:01 into the third and at 19:45 into the third.

Mooretown was unable to stop Blenheim from sending pucks towards the net, and the Blades eventually piled up 36 shots on goal. Blenheim's goal total was higher than its season average. This season, the Blades average 4.4 goals per contest.

Blenheim also got points from Matt Clark, who also grabbed one goal and two assists. Others who scored for Blenheim included Hunter Burk, Kirk McKillop, and Kier Cumming, who each put in one. More assists for Blenheim came via Lucas Hickey, Justin Delgado, Zack Horvath, Drew Marlatt, and Bryce Broad, who contributed one each and Bryan Boersma and Dustin Maines, who each chipped in two.

The Flags were helped by Alec Segers, who registered one goal. Segers scored 2:03 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Mooretown. Ben Morrison assisted on the tally. Mooretown also had goals scored by Nolan Riley, Joe DeSena, and Trevor Bogaert, who scored one goal each. In addition, Mooretown received assists from Cameron Rannie and Colton Osborne, who contributed one each and Matt Brandon and Colin Osler, who each chipped in two.

Blenheim's Eric Stewardson stopped 18 shots out of the 22 that he faced. The Blades incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors and had no power play opportunities. Brandon Johnson rejected 29 shots on goal for Mooretown. The Flags incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
