Alvinston survives Integrity Amherstburg comeback, wins 4-2

The Alvinston Flyers, who led by three goals at one point, survived a comeback attempt by the Integrity Amherstburg Admirals and clinched a 4-2 victory.

Alvinston led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when the Flyers' Mark McNally scored at 14:45 in the first period to put Alvinston up 3-0.

The Flyers forced Integrity Amherstburg's goaltenders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, launching 33 shots and forcing 29 saves. Daniel Tonietto made three stops and Connor Meyerink made 26.

Alvinston was helped by Kirklin Dorman, who grabbed one goal. Dorman scored 13:09 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Alvinston. Brady Swan assisted on the tally. Alvinston also had goals scored by Hunter Bryce and Joe Stock, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Alvinston were Fraser Wilson, who had one and Clint Rose and Kole Keating, who each chipped in two.

The Admirals put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Flyers to score on any of their four power plays. Integrity Amherstburg was held below its usual level of production. The Admirals average 4.5 goals per game.

Integrity Amherstburg was helped by Chad Copeland, who had one goal. Copeland scored 7:26 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Alvinston. Ryan Alexander provided the assist. Broden Meloche also scored for Integrity Amherstburg. In addition, Integrity Amherstburg received assists from Blaine Bechard and Ryan Holzel, who contributed one each.

Alvinston's Matt Boere stopped 19 shots out of the 21 that he faced. The Flyers incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. The Admirals incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
